'CEREMONIAL RIGCHUNG TITLE CONFERMENT' to VEN BODONG RINPOCHE.


































On the auspicious Rigchung Ceremonial Day with Hon'le Abbot and Dignitaries 

It is an immense honour and  privilege to offer our heartfelt Congratulations, that Ven Bodong Rinpoche, Tenzin Thutop Jigdrel, the reincarnation of Bodong Lama Dhampa Sonam Gyaltsen(1312-75), was graciously conferred the Ceremonial Rigchung Title, a Dialectical Debate ceremony, by the Abbot of sera jey monastic university for advanced Buddhist studies in recognition for his successfully completed primary academic course of  Paramita, the perfection of Wisdom.The dialectical debate programme was successfully and fabulously and conducted in the presence of entire congregation of holy Sangha members at Sera Jey Assembly Hall on Thursday,16th August, 2012 in corresponding to the twenty ninth day of the sixth Tibetan lunar month. As a mark of respect and gratitude to Sera Jey Monastic University and Ngari Khangtsen, Rinpoche's Ladang had made excellent feast-offerings and the material offerings to the monastery on that joyous occasion, and this was followed by lavish and extensive feast to all the guests invited.

Ven Rinpoche's parents, Ven Geshe Pema Dorjee, director of Bodong Research Centre, and the representatives of Porong community from Nepal were present to celebrate the joyous occasion by jointly making prayer and spiritual offerings to the monastic. Apart from them, the Representative of the Tibetan settlement, Bylakuppe, representatives from different Khangtsens from Sera jey and Mey, and the class fellows were also attended.                         

On Rigchung day, Rinpoche performed exceptionally well in terms of recitation of hymns, dialectical debate activities in the presence of entire monks of Sera Jey on the actual day of Rinpoche's Rigchung offerings and prayer. He made everyone delighted and happy, especially his parents and spiritual teachers were really satisfied and pleased to see his outstanding performances in the Buddhist philosophical studies and practices.

The administrative office of Sera Jey Monastery, Ngari khangtsen, and the representatives from various monasteries, houses and communities offered Mandal Offering to Rinpoche as a mark of respect, and the traditional scarves to Rinpoche's parents, his attendant, and spiritual teachers for their concerted efforts in the line of Rinpoche's religious and spiritual progress and achievements.

CONGRATULATION TO THE STUDENTS FOR THE OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE IN EXAM:






Congrat to all! Under the guidance of Ven Khensur  Rinpoche Jampa Thegchok  la, Ven Geshe Ngawang Sangye la, the spiritual teacher and director, coupled with the tireless efforts of the abled Khangtsen Administrators and Discipline master and the senior monks, the Khangtsen has come up with a new strategy in its educational system for a long term goal of improving the students' knowledge and academic performance. The Board of Education conducted exams to the students. The students at debating classes have done exceptionally well in the all areas of exams such as in written, debate and oral text exam as well as in Tibetan grammar. The Administrators and the Discipline master offered traditional scarves and presents to the students for their outstanding performance in the exams… 

TWO NEW GESHES FROM NGARI KHANGTSEN RECENTLY IN JULY2012









 Geshe Lobsang Tashi: Born in Sharnyos Leh Ladakh, ordained as a novice monk at very tender age at Thiksey Monastery in 1986 and joined Sera jey Monastic University in 1989. Geshe la is presently serving as an Administrative Official of Sera jey Ngari Khangtsen and also the head of Sera Jey Vegetarian Tofu Centre. On the 8th July, 2012 ,corresponding to the 20th day of the 5th Tibetan Lunar year, Sera Jey Monastic University conferred him with the Geshe Degree in the presence of entire monks of Sera Jey at the congregation having completed his intensive monastic philosophical courses. On his Geshe degree convocation day, he made the extensive feast offerings to the assembly members or the Sangha of Sera Jey Monastery and later on to Sera Jey Ngari Khangtsen and Choede Chenmo Tashi Lhunpo as a mark of gratitude, respect and thankfulness to them. The Geshe degree conferment was kicked off in the morning with the recitation of Geshe Shedpa (Oral recitation of texts) followed by wonderful dialectical Buddhist Philosophical Debate called Geshe Damja Chemo. Geshe la father and the relative were presented on the joyous occasion of his final degree of Geshe at Sera Jey monastery….

Sera Jey Ngari Khangsten is pleased to inform all our dharma friends across the world that once again Ngari Khangtsen has recently produced two new Geshes named: Geshe Rinchen Tsering & Geshe Lobsang Tashi.

Geshe Rinchen Tsering: Born in Tibetan settlement, Mundgod and did his formal schooling in Sera Jey School. Later Geshe la earned his Acharya Degree from the prominent Central University for Higher Tibetan Studies (CUHTS), Sarnath Varanasi. Currently he is serving as the Principal of Sera Jey Secondary School based in Bylakuppe, Mysore. He also served as a Tibetan teacher for several years in Central School for Tibetan, Solan (HP) before he was appointed as the Principal of Sera Jey Secondary school by the glorious Sera Jey Monastery University for Advanced Buddhist Studies and Practice. On the 12th of July 2012 corresponding to the 24th day of the 5th Tibetan Lunar year, Sera jey Monastic University conferred him with the Geshe Degree in the presence of entire monks of Sera Jey at the congregation having completed his intensive monastic philosophical courses. Enthronement Ceremony of Reincarnation of Late Ven Kachen Dugyal

10 years old boy named Ven Tulku Tenzin Leksung was born as a Reincarnated Lama of a great Buddhist Scholar and Practitioner Late Venerable Kachen Dugyal la of Sumling village, Spiti valley. Kachen la joined Chode Chenmo Tashi Lhunpo monastery; one of Tibet's principal Buddhist Learning Centre and earned Kachen Degree (Equivalent to Geshe degree in Sera, Drepung and Gaden Monasteries) after successfully completed the vast and profound courses of major Buddhist philosophical treaties there. He was also honored by His Holiness the Great 9th Pachen Lama, since then he is known as Kachen Dugyal.

Later his return to Spiti village from Tibet, Kachen la devoted the rest of his life in Spiti Keey Monastery, preached extensively the people of Spiti, Lahaul and Kinnaur regions Budhha Shakyamuni's messages of love and compassion, contentment and tolerance, and practice of the essence of Buddha dharma in our everyday life. Then later, Kachen la also dedicated his whole life in the Practice of Meditations as a pious, humble and serious hermit in a solitary mud-room for 20 years in Spiti. Finally at a high age of 98, he passed away on 25th November, 1999, and remained in Samadhi or Thukdam for 7 days in sitting-meditation posture.

The reincarnation of Kachen Dugyal, a little boy Ven Tulku Tenzin Leksung was born on 17th January, 2002 in Choglamsar, Leh Ladakh, to Father Tsewang Norbu and Mother Yangchan Dolma. His Holiness the Great 14th Dalai Lama, Champion of world peace, with his infinite compassion and loving kindness to the sentient being graciously recognized a little Rinchen Namgyal as an unmistaken reincarnation of the late Ven Kachen Dugyal la…

After the Grand Enthronement ceremonies in his Key Monastery, Spiti with an enormous welcome by the people of Spiti and adjoining villages, and Chode Chenmo Tashi Lhunpu monastery in Bylakuppe. The reincarnated boy joined Sera Jey Ngari Khangtsen on 15th March, 2012 at 3:00 pm with warm and hearty welcome by Administrative officials, Discipline master and Geshe Ngawang Sangye la and entire Sangha community of Ngari Khangtsen with flowers ,burning- incenses and scarves (Traditional Katak ) in their hands. The ceremony was begun with the welcome Devotional prayer and Long Life Prayer with traditional Tibetan Tea and Dresil to all the monks and guests there soon after his enthronement to Ngari Khangtsen with offering of Mandal by the heads of Denma and Ngari Khangtsen. His Eminesnce Khensur Rinpoche Jampa Thekchog, Abbot Emeritus of Sera Jey Monastery welcomed the little Rinpoche by offering of Mandal and Traditionl Scarves (Katak ) with lots of devotion for the fact that his spiritual connection as a Dharma friend with his Predecessor Kachen la.

As per His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama's precious advice during the Rinpoche's gracious audience with His Holiness, on very auspicious occasion of 16th March, 2012 corresponding to the 24th day of the 1st Tibetan Lunar month, at 8:00 am Tulku Tenzin Leksung had an audience with the Ven Abbot Geshe Lobsang Palden la, Sera Jey Monastery and joined Sera Jey Monastery for his religious studies with the offering of 'Lama Tongo, a special Traditional religious ceremony with feast-offering to the holy Sangha as a gesture of respect and for the collections of merits for one's enlightenment in the future. The actual Enthronement Ceremony to Sera Jey Monastery was commenced with offering of Long Life Mandal by the head of the monastery followed by the Grand Feast-offerings to the Sangha by Rinpoche's Ladrang to the Sera jey Monastery and Ngari Khangtsen.

Currently, Tulku Tenzin Leksung Rinpoche lives in Sera Je Ngari Khangtsen under the Spiritual Care of his 'Yongzen' or Spiritual teacher Geshe Ngawang Sangya, and studies in Sera Jey Secondary School affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi, one the first progressive monastic intuition with a blend of modern education and traditional Buddhist studies in exile.
